Regulations

Several levels of government are involved in regulating our hobby. At the federal level, Transport Canada (TC) and Natural Resources Canada's Explosives and Regulatory Division (NRC/ERD) provide the main frameworks that apply to rocketry activities. At the provincial and municipal levels, bylaws and restrictions (such as fire bans and local permitting rules) may also come into play, though these are typically designed for fireworks rather than rocketry.

It's important to note that both model and high-power rockets are not classified as fireworks under federal regulations. Instead, they fall under Canadian Aviation Law and Explosives Law, where rocketry is specifically defined and regulated as its own activity.
