Garth, The problem is cost. Currently the CAR-ACF is revenue neutral. We can't give it away and take a loss. See our Quandary? The ONLY way we can get there is build membership IMO. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to lose money on route. It took forever to get a policy. We have grown a littl...

Glad you understand Layne. The average flier is unaware of how precarious our hobby is from a regulatory point of view. Managing it in a cautious manner has brought massive benefits to us. There is no doubt in the view of the powers that be that this is the best way to proceed. BTW We are the CAR-AC...

I spoke to Pierre today and here is the CAR-ACF position. The CAR-ACF does not participate in this type of event. CAR certification may not be used as it is contingent on it being a CAR-ACF authorized event. The liability is simply too great. Any participation can only be outside of the CAR-ACF. By ...

The first thing you need is to contact the CAR-ACF president. A CAR-ACF RSO will be required.

All the points being raised here should be put to the president and an RSO.

I suggest contacting Pierre.

Merci et au revoir/Thank you and goodbye

CAR-ACF Elections

Hi all, Elections have come and gone. Most of us ran again and I am glad to see you on board. For those who are stepping away, thanks so much for your service. Volunteer groups run on people like you and your service to the CAR-ACF is greatly appreciated. I want to extend a special round of applause...

CAR-ACF Elections Officer

The CAR-ACF is continuing to grow and given this, I felt the need for a dedicated elections officer was needed. The BOD have approved Kevin Drayson for this position. Kevin is a person of high integrity, honesty and commitment. He has demonstrated the qualities that make him ideal for this position ...

Given the growth in HP rocketry and advancements in complex technologies, I am announcing the creation of the T.S.R. Committee. The committee has been created to oversee and co-ordinate "Technical Safety Reviews". I would like to thank Kevin Drayson for excepting the position of Committee ...

I am pleased to announce that Curtis Peyson has accepted an interim appointment as the CAR-ACF Director for the Prairie Region. Curtis is an active rocketeer (Level 4) from the Winnipeg area. He will certainly be a great rep.

Problems with email

The CAR-ACF has become aware that people have been attempting to contact members of the Board and the Executive as well as myself and have not been getting a response. I wish to apologize for this. As yet we don't know why by it is being looked in to. If you do try and don't hear back, please feel f...

I would like to join Tom (and all others) in thanking Angelo for all his hard work. His accomplishments are almost too numerous to count. Under his leadership we saw the CAR-ACF reacquire insurance, update the bylaws, update incorporation, reinforce and firmly establish a strong democratic executive...

Election Results

Hi all, Before I share the results, I would like to express me sincere appreciation to both Dave Buhler, our Elections Chairman, and Shane Weatherill, our Webmaster, for the work they have both done. This was our first ever electronic balloting and it would not have been possible if not for the effo...

CAR Elections

Hi all, Well, we've never had the regional reps contested before and it's great to see so many people stepping up and willing to participate. I can't tell you how much positive feed back we've received!! I must say, looking over the names of those who are stepping forward, I was very excited not onl...

New CRSO Appointed

Happy New Year everyone. As many of you know, Vince Chichack has been the Interim Chief Range Safety Officer (CRSO). Vince had agreed to fill this roll till the end of last year and Vince has now stepped down. Words cannot express the depth of gratitude I feel for the multitude of contributions Vinc...

CAR Nominates New Interim CRSO

Max Baines has stepped down as CRSO. I would like to say that Max's contributions as a CRSO have been too numerous to be counted. His leadership and hard work has benefited rocketry and rocketeers in more ways than most will ever know. I am grateful to Max for the outstanding efforts he has made. I ...
